Prime Video’s biggest strength is in recent hit shows from the 2000s and 2010s, and few recent shows are better for binging than The Americans. Set during the Cold War in the eighties, The Americans revolves around the lives of Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Mathew Rhys), a seemingly regular American couple with two kids and a two-story home in the suburbs. The catch: Elizabeth and Peter are actually Russian KGB spies.
Aside from the political intrigue, what makes this show so amazing is how deep it goes into the personal lives of its characters. Through six intense seasons, we ride every high and low experienced by Elizabeth, Philip, Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an FBI counter-intelligence agent who happens to live across the street, Nina Krilova (Annet Mahendru) a spy-turned double agent in the Soviet Rezidentura, and other characters.
The Americans is must-watch, bingeworthy TV for anyone feeling nostalgic for the eighties and the Cold War.

Cinemax’s streaming service is best known for its feature films, but it also has many original TV shows. One of the best is The Knick, a series directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Clive Owen that takes us into the lives of the staff at New York’s Knickerbocker Hospital in the early twentieth century.
Owen stars as Doctor John Thackery, a pioneering surgeon with a secret cocaine and opium addiction. And then there’s Dr. Algernon Edwards, a Harvard-educated black surgeon who fight to gain respect within a predominantly white hospital. The hospitals of 120 years ago were vastly different to those of today, and The Knick really brings it all to life.
The Knick only ran for two seasons, but it is nevertheless extremely bingeworthy.

Starz is one of the TV world’s best secrets, being a premium network that regularly produces bingeworthy shows. The Starz video library offers subscribers access on demand to all its shows – and the best of these shows is Outlander. For those unfamiliar with Outlander, it’s a historical drama based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon.
Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a married former World War II nurse who travels back in time to Scotland in 1743. There, she encounters a group of rebel highlanders being pursued by English troops. She falls in love with one of the Highland warriors (Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan) and becomes caught up in all the fighting.
Outlander has had five seasons, with a sixth scheduled for next year, so you can keep bingeing on it for the foreseeable future.

HBO has been pumping out bingeworthy TV shows for decades. All its top hits are available ad-free, uninterrupted, and on-demand on HBO’s streaming service. It’s hard to pick a number one, but if we have to, it would be The Wire. Set in Baltimore, this fictional show is set around the city’s very real inner-city drug scene.
What makes The Wire so great? It’s probably the fact that each of the five seasons has a different focus, with the one constant being that they all revolve around the Baltimore drug scene. Most fans believe season 4 was the pinnacle. This one focuses on the Baltimore school system and mayoral race, showing how middle-schoolers get sucked into the drug culture.
Each of The Wire’s five seasons is bingeworthy in its own right.

CBS All Access is the official place for screaming CBS original shows. While it has a variety of programming, its biggest strength happens to be sci-fi – and in particular recent Star Trek series. The pick of the bunch is Star Trek: Discovery, the seventh series in the Star Trek franchise and the first since the much-loved Star Trek: Enterprise wrapped up in 2005.
The Star Trek: Discovery series is actually a prequel to the original Star Trek series, and follows the crew of the USS Discovery as the Klingon houses team up in a war against the United Federation of Planets.
